I will say there are floor sanders out there that aren t as good as others but that s the same with anything.

You may be able to gain some additional help there. Many professional floor guys there that do this for a living. We have a 1 3 sheet sander and under the carpet are untreated pine floor boards. There s nothing in your posts that isn t relevant and worth saying.

Hand sanding will open the pores up and blend the scratch patterns otherwise the sheen and colour can look different around the edge of the room as the wood will absorb the oil or finish differently.
